Hello all, for this weeks blog post I'm going to write about how throwing a party can piss you off but at the same time have something good. My friend Tony from high school and I decided since we applied so late for college that there wasn't a way to get into the dorms. So we had to get an apartment; and we have a two bedroom one and a half bathroom place with a nice basement. We have had a few parties and not much has happened that has really gotten under my skin until last night.
We decided to have people over and just have some fun; usually there is always someone that doesn't know when to quit drinking (water of course) and gets sick which ruins everything for the persons place that its at because they are the ones that usually have to clean it up.
This night things were going good until the next day when I woke up i couldn't find some items like my video games, movies, shoes, coats, and ipods. The place was completely trashed there were stains in the carpet and garbage everywhere. when it comes to a person that hosts a party you think that the people that were invited would have the respect to not steal or trash the place. Well sometimes people don't always think that way. So my roommate and I started cleaning up and the more we cleaned the more stuff we found missing. It was like the people that came over were just trying to pull a fast one on us but in the end they were just kidding and hid stuff. My roommate and I were very pissed of until we figured out it was all a joke, a very good joke, but we were still angry that our friends left trash lay every where and didn't help clean up.
Thats why having parties can sometimes piss me off because you have to clean up the next day and sometimes things are where you put them or are just completely missing.

That really sucks that you had a party and people trashed your house. It is like your throwing a party for them so those people are not at their house trashing it. You think people would think and consider about that before going to a party. Thinking of other and how others feel when they have a party. Most people do not care and are just selfish. People just need to start putting other before themselves. Also with the whole joke it is always a good feeling know it is a joke instead of someone stealing all of your stuff.
ReplyDeleteThis was a good blog i personally never held a party at my place for the reason that i dont really trust people. But i understand completely how you feel about the people being rude and not cleaning up. ive been to plenty of house parties and seen people drink way too much (water of course) and then leave and not clean up after themselves. Me i know that i wouldnt want a bunch of people in my house making a mess so i usually just have a cup of my drink and then when i leave throw it away.
ReplyDeleteAlso your friends playing that joke would have pissed me off also becasue i hate cleaning up so if i had to clean up and found shit missing then i would have been extremely pissed even if it was a joke. but i would eventually get over it.
I think your story is very funny that has happened to us before at the dorms people started drinking to much damn water and started to get out of control. Even though we have never been caught we still like to take the proper precautions. It has gotten to the point where we had to tell people that if you drink you have to stay and you can not leave until the place is inspected and cleaned and until your together enough to hold your own. Next time you have a party hide your possessions in a place only you and your roommates know where to find these things.
ReplyDeleteYea man when you have an apt, that means that you pretty much have to throw parties. Which could be a bad thing or it caould be a good thing. Maybe you need to invite more people that can handle their (water) and not get so (unhealthy) that they trash the place. Well hey it could be worse and you could have a lame a** roommate and he could have a party with all lame a** friends that annoy the crap out of you. Then on top of that, they trash the place because they are light weights.
ReplyDeleteI'm reminded of a time when a friend of mine gave the keys to his parents' house and another friend threw a party there. I--for once--stayed away, but the blame for the wreckage nearly fell on me anyway. His pop was livid. Good times.

Haha that's a pretty messed joke. The idea of this story is why i wouldn't want to have too many parties when i get my own place. People end up drinking way to much water and they leave a mess and trash your house. A friend of mine had a party a few months ago and there were about one hundred people there,the result was a stolen ipod, blackberry, and a few xbox games. The party was ended once a fight broke out, too much water can cause people to go crazy haha.
ReplyDeleteI so know how you feel about things coming up missing with parties when you only invited friends over. For I had a party with some friends from high school a couple months ago and had a mp3 player and a couple games come up missing. Of course though no one will admit to anything, so I never did figure out who took my stuff and had to replace it all out of my pocket. Although it was definitely the last party that I had with most of my high school friends, that I didn’t have time to talk to on the daily bases. Hope your parties don’t keep pissing you off.
ReplyDeleteThat’s funny, but not on your part. I had a party at my house when my mom and dad left for a night. When I woke up only having two hours of sleep because I had work at seven. The house was a mess, but nothing was stolen. i picked up all the trash and opened the frezzer for an ice pack for my bucket when I seen two beer cans in the ice machine that had busted. That really pissed my off because I had to clean an ice machine which took a lot of work so the ice didn’t taste like beer. They never found out, but I probably won’t have another party until I get my own house so I don’t have to worry as much.
